Removing Fuel and Oil from Balsa Wood
Here are two proven methods that haved worked well for Pongo-Air
K2R brand Spot Remover, may be sprayed onto the fuel soaked areas. Allow the chemical to dry. Brush the residue off.
Consider repeating this process 2-3 times to remove oils and contaminated that have soaked deep into the wood.
Cornstarch may be used as a wick for larger areas or perhaps in situations where a fuel tank or fuel fitting has let go,
resulting in a fuselage compartment that was flooded out. Consider using the K2R method to dry out the compartment or area.
