Removing Fuel and Oil from Balsa Wood


Here are two proven methods that haved worked well for Pongo-Air

K2R brand Spot Remover, may be sprayed onto the fuel soaked areas. Allow the chemical to dry. Brush the residue off. Consider repeating this process 2-3 times to remove oils and contaminated that have soaked deep into the wood.

Cornstarch may be used as a wick for larger areas or perhaps in situations where a fuel tank or fuel fitting has let go, resulting in a fuselage compartment that was flooded out. Consider using the K2R method to dry out the compartment or area.
